Ein starkes Jahr 2025: Gemeinsam haben wir 400.000 Bälle gesammelt

A strong year: together we collected 400,000 balls

What a year! Together with more than 250 clubs, centers, tournaments, and committed players, we achieved an impressive milestone: a total of 400,000 tennis and padel balls were collected across Switzerland.

This puts Swiss tennis on a great path toward a circular economy and more sustainable sport. Here’s how the collected balls are being used:

150,000 balls for recycling

Our partner Renewaball in the Netherlands received 150,000 balls. There, old balls are transformed into new products – a closed-loop system that saves resources and shows how tennis can become more sustainable.

100,000 balls for the next generation

Around 100,000 balls were donated free of charge to tennis schools and youth programs in Poland. This gives the balls a second life – and young players more time on court. At the end of their use, the balls are collected by us and recycled.

150,000 balls currently being sorted

Another 150,000 balls are currently in our sorting process. Some will be recycled, while others will go into upcycling projects such as sound-insulation panels or sneakers made from old tennis balls. We are currently piloting different options to find the most sustainable and meaningful solutions.

Our recycling champion: TC Frohberg

A special round of applause goes to TC Frohberg. The tennis club in Stäfa collected an impressive 12,000 balls this year alone. We salute this outstanding achievement.

Thank you to everyone involved!

This success belongs to the clubs, centers, players, partners, and helpers. Together, we are making tennis more sustainable step by step. In 2026, we want to go even further – and break the one-million-ball mark. Are you in?
